How To Install Galvanized Steel Corrugated Roof Panel

To install corrugated roofing start by cutting your panels to length with an angle grinder.

How to install galvanized steel corrugated roof panel. Place the first screw at the outside bottom edge add screws at the other edge and the top of the panel to secure it and finish fastening it with screws about 24 inches apart. Beginning at the outside edge of your roof place each panel directly onto the purlins that are attached to the roof trusses. Metal panels are made to overlap a few inches in the grooves. Fasten it with galvanized screws with plastic washer caps by using a screw gun.

Secure the screws but do not overtighten. Side laps should still face away from the wind. Install the roofing screws vertically along each rib in the panel. Place the first screw about 7 inches from the bottom and each subsequent screw about 18 to 24 inches apart along the vertical run.

The washer under the screw head should seal to the surface of the panel without bulging or shifting. Next pre drill holes on the end and side ridges of the panels spacing the holes 6 to 8 inches apart. Install the first galvanized roof panel at one bottom corner. This will keep the wall straight as you place additional panels.

On hip roofs this crew prefers to begin at the center and work outward. Start at the end of one wall and use square up.
