Jaguar Xk8 Roof Not Latched

The pump is running when i try to operate the roof but the roof doesn t move.

Jaguar xk8 roof not latched. Several years ago i had a hydraulic hose fail that operates my roof on my 1999 xk8. I have a 03 xk8 convertible and when i put the roof up down it started leaking oil thru the latch on the top by the answered by a verified jaguar mechanic. I can see a fluid level in the pump reservoir but not sure what the level should be. To latch manually you have a allen key located on the pump in the boot rh side remove the little plug on the screen closing panel and use the key to latch the mechanism.

Could the pump be faulty. Pull the roof up to the latch then close the latch with the allen wrench. Pull that plug and insert the allen wrench and rotate to unlatch open the roof latch. At that time i could find little to no information related to the hose latch or how to replace the equipment.

My jaguar xk8 convertible roof failed to close just short of the latch. I have a 2000 xkr jaguar. If the roof top operation is poor sluggish it needs the roof top hydraulic system flushing and new pentosyl fluid using in the system the old type origional fluid can turn to a jelly like substance. At that time i began a crusade to make a procedure to replace the hydraulic equipment and to find the cause and make a solution to the problem.

I have a 1999 jaguar xk8 and recently was closing the convertible top when it didn t finish latching but only partially latched. Latch i realise i need a new hydraulic hose two problems. Once the roof is up and latched you will need to lock the rams for the rear quarter windows to close. Jaguar xk8 i had a fluid leak from the latch area of my hood when i attempted to open it.
